Mitchelstown has one of the most active open competition programmes in Munster. With open competitions running nearly every weekend of the year, there is almost always a reason to come and play competitively rather than just a casual round.
Open to all golfers with a recognised handicap. Entry is €30 — less than a standard green fee — and you're playing for prizes.
Running every Wednesday from May to September, the Wednesday Qualifier series gives visiting golfers something the weekend opens cannot — a reason to keep coming back.
Each week, the top three finishers qualify for the September Final. A closest the pin shoot-out runs alongside every round, adding a separate competition within the competition.
The highlight of the Mitchelstown calendar. Held over three days in late August, the Scratch Cup attracts competitors from across Munster and beyond. Four categories ensure every level of player has a genuine competition to enter.
If you play one open competition at Mitchelstown this year, make it this one.
