JUNIOR GOLF
Welcome to the Junior Section of Mitchelstown Golf Club.
The purpose of the Junior Section is to develop and grow Junior
Golf within the Club.
It’s objectives are:
· Put structures in place that will establish junior golf on a firm footing at the club and provide the very best for our juniors.
· Increase activity levels in junior golf in the club and encourage more junior representation at inter club, provincial and national levels.
· Increase awareness and interest in junior golf amongst all the members of the club.
· Make golf more accessible and attractive to kids and work at sustaining and retaining those already involved in the club.
In January 2009, the Junior Committee prepared a development plan for Junior Golf at Mitchelstown that has since been endorsed by the Clubs Management. The plan covers all aspects of Junior Golf from child protection, introducing new members, coaching and issues such as golf education (e.g. rules, etiquette), playing rights and rules for our juniors plus junior handicapping and competitions.
Mitchelstown Golf Club is fully committed to Junior Golf and endorses the Golfing Union of Ireland and Irish Ladies Golf Union Charter for Junior Golf and their ‘Code of Ethics for Golf for Young People’. We are also partnering with Junior Golf Ireland to develop all aspects of Junior Golf at the club.
